Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) is an interdisciplinary society of scientists who encourage and support women to achieve success in science through: full participation in their scientific research and the integration of careers, personal goals, and society's needs as well as professional networking and mutual inspiration.
Members include graduate students, post docs, and academic teachers and researchers, as well as the professionals in industry, government, or non-profits. Numerous disciplines are represented, ranging from basic scientists to representatives from corporations in all areas of science.
The Mid-Michigan Chapter of GWIS is based at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We serve the entire Mid-Michigan region and are honored to have members from all across the state.
As the Mid-Michigan Chapter of Graduate Women in Science, together we strive for the same mission alongside the dozens of chapters nationally and internationally: to build a global community that inspires, supports, recognizes, and empowers women in science.
